Farmer Nappy Shares Winner Soca Video

By No Excuse
Share

Trinidadian soca artist Farmer Nappy released the official Winner video on November 1, 2026, and the Farmer Nappy Winner single is his entry on the Sweet Side Riddim. The video is live on his official YouTube channel, opening his run toward the Carnival 2027 season.

Winner is a positive-minded record, and everything around it is built for the fete circuit that carries soca from Trinidad to Toronto. The city’s Caribbean diaspora keeps this music in rotation year-round, and a new Farmer Nappy video lands in Toronto the same week the city hosts a Dancehall vs Soca late-night party on Adelaide Street West, the kind of room where a Sweet Side Riddim cut gets tested in front of a real crowd.

Farmer Nappy Winner: A Beach Club Performance

Director Navindra Harbukhan filmed the video at Le Soleil Beach Club in Cayman Brac, in the Cayman Islands, with camera work and editing by NH Productions TT. Farmer Nappy performs in a white T-shirt and shorts against the shoreline, a simple setup that lets the song’s message carry the clip. There is no plot to decode. The setting is the argument: this is music for outside.

The Sweet Side Riddim Team Behind It

Winner was produced by ChippyG, with executive production by Country Life Music. The song was written by Shakeem “Kimi” Spencer and Darryl Henry, and it features background vocals by Trini Baby, guitars by Kyle Peters and bass by Alex “Bassgod” Andrew. Precision Productions handled the mix and master, the Trinidadian team whose name on a soca record is its own quality mark.

Farmer Nappy is not alone on the riddim. The Sweet Side Riddim also carries Kerwin DuBois, Kimi, Christo and Tian Winter, which makes Winner one voice in a shared seasonal conversation. Riddim culture works that way on purpose: one production, several interpretations, and the crowd decides which version owns the road.

Why Toronto Listens to This Lane

Farmer Nappy, born Darryl Henry, is one of soca’s most durable writers and performers, a former member of Machel Montano’s HD family era and the artist behind Backyard Jam, which won the 2021 Soca Monarch and Road March titles in their online editions. Songs from him are not experiments. They are entries in a catalogue that Toronto’s Trinbagonian and wider Caribbean community has been dancing to for decades.

Winner arrives early in the 2027 soca cycle, which is exactly when these records are supposed to land. The songs that soundtrack Carnival, and the Toronto fetes that mirror it, are chosen months ahead. A clean video, a proven riddim and a veteran name give Winner its shot at that rotation, in Port of Spain and on Adelaide Street alike.
