Masicka Expands Forever Reign With Deluxe Edition

Masicka will release a deluxe edition of Forever Reign on December 4, adding eight new tracks to the album, and he confirmed the plan in an exclusive interview as he prepares to play Scotiabank Arena in Toronto tonight. The Masicka Forever Reign Deluxe news lands on the same day the Jamaican deejay takes the stage as a special guest at Mavado’s Return of the Gully Gad show, his host’s first Toronto performance in nine years.

Toronto is one of the biggest dancehall rooms outside Jamaica, and tonight’s arena date puts Masicka in front of the GTA’s Caribbean community at the exact moment the Forever Reign cycle is peaking. The album passed 71 million streams this week, and the deluxe gives that run a second wind heading into December.

Masicka Forever Reign Deluxe Arrives December 4

The deluxe edition adds eight tracks to Forever Reign, confirmed by Masicka himself in his exclusive interview with World Music Views, published at the launch of his Forever 1ne Music Festival. He kept the details close, but set the expectation plainly:

Yeah, man, eight tracks. We just want to go out with a bang for the rest of the year.

The deluxe is framed as a shorter extension of the album rather than a new full-length, and it sets up his Forever 1ne Festival on December 19, which Masicka describes as a give-back to the fans who carried the record. “The fans support me. They support the album,” he said.

A Distribution Deal, Not A Cage

The interview also clarified Masicka’s Def Jam chapter. Forever Reign Deluxe could be his final release under the Universal Music Group label, and he is preparing to move toward independence in 2027. Crucially, he says the arrangement that began in 2023 was a distribution deal, not a traditional recording contract:

It was a distribution deal, you know what I mean? So I always have the rights to put up my music and ownership to my music and stuff like that.

He was candid that the partnership had friction, noting that “the label does what it’s supposed to do” and that the two sides were “not always eye to eye like any other organization.” Two full-length projects came out of the run, and he credited Tunji Balogun, the outgoing Def Jam CEO, with playing a major role when he signed.

Why Tonight Matters For Toronto

Before any of that business plays out, there is tonight. Masicka joins Armanii as a special guest at Scotiabank Arena, with Spex Da Boss hosting, on a bill built for Toronto’s dancehall faithful. The city’s Caribbean diaspora is one of the largest in the world, and an arena headline night for dancehall has been nine years in the making here.

Masicka arrives with the strongest album numbers of his career, a deluxe edition dated for December 4, a festival of his own on December 19, and an independence plan for 2027. Toronto hears the current chapter live tonight.
