Saya Gray released QWERTY III on November 3 via Dirty Hit, the third EP in a series she calls experiments between albums. The Toronto singer, songwriter and producer announced the seven-track project with less than a week’s warning, which she has said is the method for this series.
Saya Gray QWERTY III Tracklist Runs Seven Songs
QWERTY III runs seven songs in 19 minutes, opening with “YOU??? HUH???” and moving through “GUANYIN 06/10/25,” “SPOOO0OOOOF” and “FERAL CHILD ;-0” before closing out with titles like “4ll My Love (Wasn’t Enough)” and “2 2 Baboon..” The track names read like studio timestamps, and that is the design: Gray calls the QWERTY EPs the honest work that happens between albums.

Q EPs are experiments between projects.
The series began with QWERTY in 2023 and continued with QWERTY II in 2024. Where her albums are built as complete statements, these EPs are where the ideas arrive unfiltered, fuzzed guitars and plain singer-songwriter melody cutting themselves off mid-thought.
The Run Behind The EP
QWERTY III is Gray’s first project since SAYA, her 2025 debut full-length, which was shaped by a retreat to Japan and went on to make the Polaris Prize shortlist and draw two Juno nominations. Before her solo records, she spent a decade as a bassist, touring in Daniel Caesar’s band and working as musical director for Willow Smith, and that player-first background is all over the EP’s arrangements.
Toronto heard one of these songs early. Opening for Turnstile at Woodbine Park on September 12, Gray debuted “SPOOO0OOOOF” live, weeks before the EP had a name in public.
Three New York Rooms In Three Nights
The release turns into a live run this weekend. Gray plays Knockdown Center on November 7 as part of the OUTLINE festival alongside Danny L Harle, Ela Minus and Contact Sports, then a sold-out Night Club 101 show on November 8, then closes the run with a free house show at 526 W 114th Street on November 9.
A sold-out room, a festival stage and a free house show in three nights is a fair map of where Gray sits right now: a Polaris-level catalogue, an audience that follows the experiments as closely as the albums, and no interest in sanding either one down.
QWERTY III is out now on Dirty Hit.
