Masicka Forever Reign Passes 71 Million Streams

Masicka’s third studio album Forever Reign has passed 71.3 million streams, according to Luminate figures reported this week. More than half of that listening came from free, ad supported tiers, a split that says the record is reaching well past his core dancehall audience.

DancehallMag reported the Luminate numbers on November 4, through figures obtained by Kaboom Magazine. The album arrived on August 14, 2026 through Def Jam Recordings, and nearly three months later it is still adding plays at a rate most dancehall projects never reach.

Masicka Forever Reign, By The Numbers

The split inside the 71.3 million is the detail worth sitting with. Ad supported services delivered 36.8 million streams, or 52 percent of the total, while premium subscribers accounted for 34.5 million, roughly 48 percent. The same Luminate figures credit the album with more than 5,500 digital song sales on top of the streaming total.

The chart start was strong as well. Forever Reign debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and held No. 9 in its second week, and World Music Views reports it is the highest charting reggae project among the 119 albums submitted for Best Reggae Album consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards. Across 17 tracks, the album pairs Masicka with Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley on “1 Psalm” and features production from Dunw3ll, Dre Skull, Di Genius and Supa Dups.

A Deluxe Edition, And His Music Still His

The campaign is not finished. Masicka told World Music Views this week that a deluxe edition of Forever Reign arrives on December 4 with eight additional tracks, and that the expanded set could be his final release under the Def Jam arrangement. He was clear about what that arrangement actually is.

“It was a distribution deal, you know what I mean? So I always have the rights to put up my music and ownership to my music and stuff like that.”

That ownership point matters for what comes next. Masicka described the Def Jam partnership, which began in 2023, as a chapter that has served its purpose, with a new phase of his career planned for 2027 on his own terms.

Toronto Hears It Live On Thursday

Toronto does not have to wait for the deluxe. Masicka joins Mavado at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday, November 5, for Mavado’s first Toronto arena headline show and his first performance in the city in nine years, a night iimiTV previewed in Mavado Brings Friends To Toronto Arena. It is Masicka’s second Canadian trip this year, after his set at the Oasis Music Festival in August, and it puts the Forever Reign catalogue in front of one of the largest Caribbean diaspora audiences in North America.

From Toronto, the run continues to the indoor edition of City Splash in the UK on November 26. Then, on December 19, Masicka hosts his own Forever1NE Music Festival at Caymanas Park in Portmore, the biggest undertaking of his career so far. The streams say the audience is there. The next six weeks are about meeting it in person.
