Mystyk New Song RudeBwoy, Up Close

RudeBwoy is a persona record. Mystyk, real name Shane Lindon Coutain, writes and performs the single himself, and the writing credit on the release is his alone. He steps into the rude boy character for the full three minutes, a stance record from an artist who spent the first half of 2026 releasing music at a pace very few independent soca acts even attempt.

The record comes out of a tight camp. RudeBwoy was released through Bad And Smart Music and MadHead Productions, and every technical credit on the song sits with one man. The credits carried on the official audio upload read:

Produced By @Mpsdeva [MadHead Productions]. Mixed & Mastered @Mpsdeva [MadHead Productions].

Deva, who works as Mpsdeva, is Mystyk’s producer, and the partnership is the engine of his catalogue. One producer across the writing, the production and the final master gives the single a single point of view, and it gives listeners a clean entry point into the sound Mystyk and MadHead Productions have been building out of Grenada.

A Six-Single Run Through The 2026 Spicemas Season

RudeBwoy did not arrive on its own. It closed a run of six singles Mystyk released between April and July 2026, a full season of work aimed at the 2026 Spicemas season in Grenada. The run opened on April 2 with Pretty Girls, riding the Ride Out Riddim, and Your Love arrived four days later on April 6.

May brought the heart of the season. She Love Jab landed on May 8 on the Unchainable Riddim, and Big Up Grenada followed on May 25, a salute to home ground from an artist whose catalogue is steeped in the island’s name. Under Mi Ting came on July 5 on the Jab Colony Riddim, and RudeBwoy closed the sequence on July 10.

Two of the six are jab records outright, and that is no accident. Jab is Grenada’s own carnival language, the oil, paint, drums and defiance that set Spicemas apart from every other carnival in the Caribbean. An artist who records for the jab mas twice in one season is speaking directly to the road, and Mystyk bookended that conversation with a patriotic salute on one side and the RudeBwoy stance on the other.

The Toronto Line In The Mystyk Catalogue

There is a Canadian line running through this catalogue, and it is printed right on one of his earlier records. Train Me Waist, his single on the Sweet Ride Riddim, carries a credit this desk does not see every day on a Grenadian soca release. The song was produced and composed by Glen J. George of G Music Group, and its own release credits carry the line “Distributed & Published by: G Music Group, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.”

That is the diaspora pipeline working exactly as it should. Toronto holds one of the largest Grenadian communities outside the island, and Grenadian soca is a hometown sound in this city’s fetes, especially through the summer carnival season. A Grenadian artist whose music has already moved through a Toronto company is not a foreign story for this desk. He is part of the same circuit Toronto’s Caribbean audience dances to every summer.

It is also why the Caribbean Music desk covers a record like RudeBwoy from Toronto. The audience for Grenadian soca does not only live in St. George’s. A large part of it lives here, and it keeps the island’s season in rotation long after the carnival ends.

Where To Hear RudeBwoy

The official audio is embedded above, straight from Mystyk’s own YouTube channel, which bills itself as the “Official Channel for Grenadian Artiste Mystyk.” The single is also streaming on Apple Music, and Mystyk posts as @mystykworld on Instagram.

Six singles in just over three months is a serious work rate, and the run gives new listeners a clean way into the catalogue: start with RudeBwoy, then work back through Big Up Grenada and She Love Jab. Where Mystyk goes next is the open question. After a season this full, this desk will be watching for the answer.
