Toronto singer Jessie Reyez released SOFTER on October 30, 2026, the fourth weekly bonus track from her deluxe album rollout. The single, backed by a lyric video on her official YouTube channel, leads into the deluxe edition of A Little Vengeance, due November 6 through FMLY and Island Records.
The rollout has been running like a countdown. Since October 9, Reyez has released one bonus track a week, and SOFTER is the last one to land before the full deluxe arrives. It also lands three days before she opens her first headline arena tour in Seattle, and three weeks before that tour reaches Toronto. For anyone tracking Jessie Reyez SOFTER as it climbs, the song is both a single and a starting gun.
Jessie Reyez SOFTER Opens The Deluxe Run
SOFTER is a short and direct record, running under three minutes, built on a confession the title gives away. The lyric, as the official lyric video lays it out, circles one line: she wishes she could have been a little softer. It is the melodic end of the album’s range, and Island Records framed the deluxe around exactly that balance in its release:
The deluxe album pairs Reyez’s hard-hitting anthems with softer, melodic moments, extending the album’s knack for turning emotional chaos into song.
The deluxe edition expands the original album from 17 tracks to 25. The eight bonus titles are MADE 4 THIS, GO 2 WAR, FOR SIXXX IN THE MORNIN featuring Samara Cyn, GOAT PRINCESS INTERLUDE, SOVEREIGN LAND, SOFTER, I JUST WANT TO PET MY DOG, and COLOMBIAN KING AND QUEEN INTERLUDE PART 2. Four are already out, released weekly on October 9, October 16, October 23 and October 30. The remaining four arrive with the deluxe on November 6. The original A Little Vengeance was released on June 12, 2026, her birthday, the same day she performed in her hometown of Toronto at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, singing Illuminate with Elyanna.
Samara Cyn Brings The Rap Edge
The bonus track closest to hip hop is FOR SIXXX IN THE MORNIN, credited to Reyez and Samara Cyn and, at just under four minutes, the longest of the eight. Island called it a standout that captures the ache of yearning for a former lover, and HotNewHipHop described the pairing as pop R and B mixed with Cyn’s melodic rap. Cyn arrives with real momentum of her own: she won the Grulke Prize for a developing United States act at SXSW in 2025, following her debut project The Drive Home in October 2024.
The feature also fits Reyez’s own history. Her hip hop credits run deep for a singer filed under R and B. She duetted with Eminem on Nice Guy and Good Guy from Kamikaze and co-wrote both songs, and in 2025 she appeared with JID on No Boo from his album God Does Like Ugly. The June album itself carries Ty Dolla Sign on DUSTY and D Smoke and Lekan on SYNESTHESIA. SOFTER sits at the gentle end of that catalogue, but the catalogue has always had two ends.
Toronto Gets The Tour On November 24
The A Little Vengeance Tour opens November 3 at WAMU Theater in Seattle and runs thirteen dates, with sold out stops reported in Los Angeles, Chicago, Sacramento, Oakland, San Diego, Phoenix, Dallas, Washington and Boston. The deluxe album’s release night, November 6, finds her on stage in Oakland. The Canadian date is the one that matters here: Tuesday, November 24 at Coca-Cola Coliseum in Toronto, a hometown arena headline show to close the run.
The weekly structure of the rollout deserves its own note. Rather than announcing a deluxe and letting the date do the work, Reyez turned October into a serial, one bonus track every Friday, each one a small event with its own artwork and conversation. By the time SOFTER landed, the deluxe already felt familiar, and the four unheard tracks waiting inside it carried genuine anticipation instead of the filler tag deluxe bonuses usually earn.
The timing caps a landmark hometown year. On October 26, at REBEL in Toronto, Reyez received the International Achievement Award at the SOCAN Awards, honouring a career that SOCAN and her label put at more than four billion streams worldwide. A Grammy nomination and six Juno Awards sit behind that number. SOFTER, a two minute and fifty-four second single about wishing she had been gentler, is a small song doing heavy work: it closes the weekly rollout, opens the deluxe week, and points straight at the biggest Toronto show of her career.
