Alijah Martin scored a career-high 27 points on Friday, November 6, 2026, leading the short-handed Toronto Raptors past the Milwaukee Bucks 121-107 at Fiserv Forum in NBA Cup group play. Toronto won without Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and Kawhi Leonard, three of its top four players, and the final score tells only half of it: the Raptors trailed by nine at halftime before scoring 70 points in the second half. ESPN’s game recap carries the full box score for the night.

Alijah Martin Career High Triples His Old Mark

The size of the jump is the story. Martin arrived in Milwaukee with a career high of nine points, a mark listed on his Basketball-Reference page before tip-off, and he tripled it in one night. The second-year guard, drafted 39th overall by Toronto in 2025 after helping Florida win a national championship, played 31 minutes and shot 9 of 11 from the field, 6 of 7 from three and 3 of 4 at the line, adding four rebounds, two steals and a block. His plus-22 was the best mark of any Toronto reserve and second only to Jamal Shead on the team.

The shooting line matters more because of the team around it. Toronto entered the night ranked 26th in the NBA in three-point percentage at 31.6 per cent, and the rest of the roster shot 3 of 25 from deep against Milwaukee. Martin made six of the Raptors’ nine threes on his own. The Raptors on SI report notes he co-led Toronto with 27 points alongside RJ Barrett while shooting 9 of 11, and that the extra minutes came with Barnes, Quickley and Leonard all out, Leonard missing his sixth straight game. Raptors Republic’s game grades gave Martin an A-plus and put the early rescue plainly: “If he didn’t explode early, the Raptors might have been down 20 points after a quarter. Saved the game.”

A 70-Point Second Half Flips The Game

Milwaukee controlled the first half on its own floor. The Bucks led 29-24 after one quarter and 60-51 at halftime, and Toronto was out-rebounded 24-14 over the first two quarters, a shaky mix for a team missing its best rebounder in Barnes. Nothing about the first half suggested a 14-point road win was coming.

The third quarter changed the game. Toronto outscored Milwaukee 38-27 in the third, with Martin’s above-the-break three giving the Raptors their first lead midway through the quarter, then closed 32-20 in the fourth for a 70-47 second half. The defence travelled with the shooting: after giving up 60 before the break, Toronto held the Bucks to 47 after it, and a game that had been drifting away by halftime ended as the most comfortable win of the Raptors’ four-game road trip.

Shead, Barrett And Poeltl Carry The Rest

Martin had help, and most of it came from the makeshift starting backcourt. Jamal Shead started in Quickley’s place and ran the offence all night, finishing with 10 points and 16 assists against a single turnover, a career-level playmaking night for a guard who had averaged 5.5 points and 5.4 assists through the first eight games. Barrett matched Martin’s 27 points on 9 of 22 shooting, going 9 of 11 at the free-throw line and adding seven rebounds and five assists. Jakob Poeltl posted 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Collin Murray-Boyles added 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals.

Milwaukee got 23 points, five rebounds and 10 assists from Tyler Herro and a 21-point, 11-rebound double-double from Brayden Burries, with Kyle Kuzma scoring 13. Myles Turner, the Bucks’ starting centre, went scoreless on 0 of 7 shooting in 24 minutes, and Milwaukee’s fifth straight loss dropped the club to 1-8, tied for the league’s worst record at the start of the night.

What The Raptors Win In Milwaukee Means

Toronto moves to 5-4 and closes the road trip at 2-2, with wins at the Clippers and Milwaukee around losses to the Lakers and Denver. The Cup angle is real as well: Raptors Republic’s game-day preview framed this as Toronto’s second game of the NBA Cup, with the club looking for its first win of the competition, and that win arrived on the road, without three starters, behind a guard whose previous career high was nine points. One game does not settle a rotation, but a 27-point night on 11 shots, in a game his team had to have, is exactly how a young guard forces a larger role, and the Raptors on SI report already expects Toronto to test a bigger one for him.

The Raptors come home next to host Memphis on Monday, November 9 at Scotiabank Arena. Whether Barnes, Quickley or Leonard return for that one is still to be confirmed. What Milwaukee settled is simpler: on the night Toronto had almost nobody, Alijah Martin had the game of his career, and it was enough.
