The Weeknd’s Blinding Lights remains Spotify’s most streamed song ever, and Canadians hold three of the top six places in November. The November 2026 update of Spotify’s 100 most-streamed songs of all time puts Blinding Lights at No. 1 with about 5.66 billion streams, and the most streamed songs of all time on Spotify list reads like a Canadian roll call once the full hundred is counted.
Three of the top six are Canadian
The summit is not close at the very top and it is heavily Canadian just below it. Blinding Lights leads Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You, at about 5.17 billion, and The Neighbourhood’s Sweater Weather, just under 5 billion. Then the Canadian run resumes. The Weeknd’s Starboy sits at No. 4 with about 4.84 billion streams, Harry Styles’ As It Was holds No. 5, and Drake’s One Dance stands at No. 6 with about 4.54 billion, a step ahead of Post Malone’s Sunflower. Three of the six biggest songs in Spotify history belong to two Toronto artists, and both of them appear again further down the list.

One Dance carries its own history in that position. The 2016 single was the first song ever to pass a billion Spotify streams, and a decade later it is still inside the all-time top six while Drake’s current catalogue floods the album charts at the same time. Longevity at this level is not a legacy metric, it is an active one, measured in the millions of plays these songs still collect every day.
The Weeknd owns six places
No artist holds more of this list than The Weeknd. Beyond Blinding Lights at No. 1 and Starboy at No. 4, he places Die For You at No. 36 with about 3.48 billion streams, The Hills at No. 63 with about 3.20 billion, One Of The Girls at No. 90 and Save Your Tears at No. 94. Six entries in the all-time hundred, spanning the After Hours and Dawn FM eras back to Beauty Behind the Madness, is a catalogue argument few artists in any genre can match, and the top entry is the biggest song the platform has ever counted.
The shape of the six matters too. These are not six versions of one hit. A synth pop record, a Daft Punk collaboration, a slow burning R and B single, a trap soul anthem and two more pop records cover almost every lane The Weeknd has worked, and all of them sit above 2.88 billion streams. The most streamed songs of all time on Spotify list is supposed to measure songs, but in his case it measures a decade of range.
Mendes and Bieber fill the middle
The Canadian presence deepens through the middle of the hundred. Shawn Mendes holds three places: Señorita at No. 38 with about 3.46 billion streams, Treat You Better at No. 58 and There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back at No. 79. Justin Bieber holds two solo places, Love Yourself at No. 42 with about 3.41 billion and Sorry at No. 72, and his voice is also on the list’s No. 10 song, STAY by The Kid LAROI, at about 4.12 billion streams. Drake’s second entry, God’s Plan, sits at No. 60 with about 3.22 billion.
Count them and the scale lands. Four Canadian artists, The Weeknd, Drake, Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber, account for thirteen of the hundred most streamed songs ever on the platform, including the No. 1 song outright. For a country of Canada’s size, that is not representation, it is occupation of the list, and it spans three different pop generations, from Sorry and One Dance in 2015 and 2016 to Blinding Lights at the decade’s turn.
The biggest first week is only one part of the story. Staying in people’s lives for years, becoming part of their routines and reaching listeners who were not even born when the song was released can be enormously important.
That is how the November roundup itself frames the list, and the Canadian entries prove the point from both directions. Billie Jean, Every Breath You Take and Bohemian Rhapsody all sit inside the hundred alongside the Canadians, songs from 1975, 1982 and 1983 competing with records from 2024, while Iris, Sweater Weather and Mr. Brightside still pull millions of plays a day.
What the list really measures
An all-time streaming list is a different kind of chart. It does not reward a release week, a marketing window or a chart battle, it rewards songs that people refuse to stop playing, across years, moods and generations of listeners. By that measure, November 2026 gives Canadian music its clearest scoreboard yet. The Weeknd tops Spotify all-time streaming with the biggest song in the platform’s history, Drake holds two places including a top six finish, and Mendes and Bieber hold five more between them. The songs are not slowing down either. Every one of the Canadian entries is still adding millions of streams, which means the next update of this list starts from a Canadian lead that is still growing.
