The Weeknd Breaks Tour Gross Record

By No Excuse
Share

The Weeknd has closed his After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour in Kuala Lumpur with a gross of more than $1.3 billion, the highest total ever by a male artist. Live Nation announced the final numbers on November 5, 2026, as the Toronto singer ended a four year run that started in July 2022.

The scale is the story. According to the Live Nation release published through PR Newswire, the tour spanned 176 shows across 67 cities, 30 countries and five continents, selling more than 9 million tickets and grossing over $1.3 billion USD. The release states the record plainly: the tour is now the highest-grossing by a male artist in history, and one of only a handful of tours ever to pass the billion dollar mark.

The Weeknd Tour Gross Record, By The Numbers

Pollstar reported the same closing figures from promoter Live Nation, and placed The Weeknd in a club with only two other acts: Taylor Swift, whose Eras Tour passed $2 billion, and Coldplay, whose Music of the Spheres tour has passed $1.5 billion. The previous mark for a male artist was Elton John, whose Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour grossed more than $939 million. The Weeknd did not edge past that record. He cleared it by more than $360 million.

The final year carried the total. Live Nation reported that the tour sold more than 3 million tickets and grossed over $500 million in 2026 alone. In July, it topped Billboard’s monthly Boxscore chart, grossing more than $120 million and selling nearly 900,000 tickets in a single month. The tour also won the Pollstar Award for Best R&B Tour earlier this year. A run built first around the After Hours album, then Dawn FM and the Hurry Up Tomorrow chapter that arrived in January 2025, kept growing for four years instead of winding down.

“From its opening night in 2022 to its final performance in Kuala Lumpur, the After Hours Til Dawn Stadium Tour has redefined the scale of global stadium touring, reaching millions of fans across five continents and cementing its place among the most successful tours in live music history.”

That closing line from the Live Nation release is promoter language, but the venue records underneath it are checkable, and they run through the cities that matter most to this site.

Toronto, Los Angeles And Paris Venue Records

In Toronto, the tour set a Rogers Centre record for the most performances by a male solo artist on a single tour, with six shows, and broke the venue record for a Canadian artist in the process. That is the hometown line in the record. Abel Tesfaye is a Toronto artist from Scarborough, and the biggest tour any male artist has ever taken around the world holds a Canadian artist record at the Rogers Centre.

The pattern repeated abroad. In Los Angeles, the tour set a SoFi Stadium record for the most performances and the highest gross by a male artist, across seven shows. In France, The Weeknd became the first artist to sell out six nights at Stade de France in Paris on a single tour, drew more than 500,000 fans across France in the summer of 2026 alone, and sold out 13 stadium shows in France across the full tour. In the United Kingdom, he drew more than 450,000 fans across seven sold-out stadium shows in 2026, with ticket buyers from nearly 150 countries.

A First Asia Leg, And A Song Called Hong Kong

The tour had never played Asia before its final leg. That leg was announced at 11 dates and expanded to 17 sold-out stadium shows because of demand, including three nights in Bangkok and four nights in Hong Kong, where The Weeknd set a record as the highest-selling international male solo artist, with nearly 200,000 tickets sold across the four shows. The run then closed at TM Stadium National in Kuala Lumpur.

Asia also produced a release. The Weeknd surprised fans with “Hong Kong,” featuring Cantopop singer Faye Wong, on October 31, after debuting it live on October 24, the opening night of the Hong Kong run at Kai Tak Stadium. Live Nation reported that the single set the biggest first day debut for a non-Mandarin song in five years on NetEase Cloud Music, and the biggest debut ever for a Western male artist on QQ Music.

The Giving That Ran Beside The Gross

The tour’s other running total is $8.5 million. That is what The Weeknd has donated through the run to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, supporting global hunger relief and access to quality education for children. In 2026 alone, $3 million was raised for the United Nations World Food Programme and Global Citizen, and this year’s Global Citizen contributions support a new campaign on barriers facing women and girls in health, education and economic opportunity.

The closing numbers put a Toronto artist in rare company. Only three tours in history have passed a billion dollars, and the one in third place belongs to a singer from Scarborough who started out posting songs online from Toronto. The After Hours Til Dawn tour is over. Its record, the highest gross any male artist has ever posted, is the number the next generation of stadium tours now has to chase.
