Luna Red releases her six-song EP Still Becoming on November 12, recorded after her move from Toronto to Bear River First Nation in Nova Scotia. It follows her September 30 single “The Land Remembers,” and it was built with JUNO Award-winning songwriter and producer Corey Le Rue and Adrian Morris of Neon Dreams.

“The Land Remembers” Sets The Tone

The single arrived on September 30, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, and Luna Red dedicated it to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit and gender-diverse people (MMIWG2S+). The song grew out of her return to her Indigenous community and the connection she felt to the land after years of living away from it.

“People may forget, histories can be disrupted and generations can become disconnected, but the land remains,” Luna Red says. “To me, the land holds memory.”

She has said the dedication widened the song beyond her own story. Even when people and systems fail to remember them, the land remembers them too, and the single carries that weight into everything the EP does next.

Still Becoming EP Release Date And Details

Still Becoming arrives Thursday, November 12, 2026, with six songs that move through identity, motherhood, self-love, cultural memory, ancestry, resilience and belonging. One of them, “Heart Bass,” is an energetic celebration of movement and freedom, and it fits an artist who came up through dance: her official biography notes a professional dance career that included opening for Bruno Mars on his 2016 Canadian tour.

The title is the thesis. For Luna Red, becoming is not a finish line. Identity, healing, motherhood and artistry keep evolving, and the EP treats that as strength rather than unfinished business. It is her second EP, following 2023’s Journey To Self, and the collaborators underline the step up: Corey Le Rue brings a JUNO Award-winning writing and production record, and Adrian Morris arrives from Neon Dreams, one of Canada’s hardest-touring pop acts.

Toronto Roots, Mi’kma’ki Ground

Born Teineisha Richards and raised in Toronto, Luna Red is an Afro-Indigenous artist of Mi’kmaq and Afro-Jamaican heritage, now based in Bear River First Nation in Mi’kma’ki. That ground runs through the whole project, from the single’s dedication to the EP’s questions about family, history and community.

“I want people to feel remembered, grounded, powerful and free,” she says.

Still Becoming lands November 12 on all platforms. Luna Red’s music and full story live at lunaredmusic.com.
