LISA Releases Press Play EP

By NoExcu$e

LISA released her new EP PRESS PLAY on October 23, 2026, through LLOUD Co. and RCA Records. The six track project arrived alongside the official video for Tarantino, directed by James Mackel.

PRESS PLAY is LISA’s first EP and her first solo project since her 2025 debut studio album Alter Ego. The full tracklist is SaWaDiKa, V12, Cobra, Tarantino, Cut U Off and Sweat, built as a short film in song form, with each track carrying its own character.

A Movie You Press Play On

The concept is stated plainly by the artist herself. The EP traces her path from her roots in Thailand to her current position as a global solo artist, and she has described the project as a film the listener simply presses play on.

This EP is about my journey from my roots to where I am right now today. There’s a lot of Thai elements in the songs as well, in the EP. And every single song has their own character, their own vibe and we combine it together. It’s like a movie. So you just press play.

That framing explains the sequencing. At six songs, PRESS PLAY is deliberately compact, closer to a short film than a feature. There is no room for filler in a format like that, and the rollout treated the EP as an event rather than a content drop, with a focus track video, a television performance history for its lead single and a Las Vegas residency waiting on the other side of release week.

Tarantino Delivers the Action

The Tarantino video, released the same day as the EP, follows LISA through a hotel on a mission to deliver a note to filmmaker Quentin Tarantino, her favourite director. The journey involves action sequences and fights with anyone standing in her way, shot with the stylised framing his films are known for.

The song’s lyrics make the tribute explicit, referencing Kill Bill and Death Proof, with the chorus built around the line that doubles as the EP’s mission statement, it’s a movie, baby, come and press play. Director James Mackel, whose previous work includes Doechii’s DENIAL IS A RIVER video, gives the clip a clean, cinematic structure that matches the song rather than overpowering it.

For hip hop listeners, Tarantino is also the EP’s clearest rap showcase. LISA’s delivery here is confident and rhythmic, leaning on the flow that has separated her solo work from standard pop releases since her debut.

SaWaDiKa Set the Stage

The EP’s foundation was laid on September 4, when SaWaDiKa arrived as the lead single. The title comes from the Thai greeting sawatdee kha, and the song pairs bass heavy production with confident rap delivery. Its video, filmed in Bangkok, incorporates local settings and imagery inspired by Muay Thai boxing, and surpassed 70.8 million YouTube views within its first 24 hours according to the release announcement.

On the charts, SaWaDiKa debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 23 on the Billboard Global 200. LISA gave the song its television debut at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she also won Best Pop for Dream, becoming the first K-pop soloist to win in that category according to Billboard Philippines.

Those numbers matter for context. PRESS PLAY does not arrive cold. It arrives behind a single that already performed globally, a major awards moment in September and months of anticipation for a first EP from an artist whose debut album peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

A Canadian Connection and a Vegas Run

Canadian audiences have a direct link to this era. LISA’s documentary Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival before arriving in cinemas worldwide this month. The film follows her solo career around the release of Alter Ego, the launch of her company LLOUD and her solo Coachella debut.

Next comes the stage. Her VIVA LA LISA residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas runs for six nights in November, after the run expanded with two additional dates when the first four shows sold out in under 10 minutes according to Bandwagon Asia.

PRESS PLAY is out now on all platforms via LLOUD and RCA Records, and the Tarantino video is streaming on LISA’s official YouTube channel. As a six track statement, it does exactly what its title asks. Press play, and the movie runs.
