How to Watch Blue Jays Games in Canada

By Rin

There is no next Blue Jays game this week, and this page will not pretend otherwise. Toronto’s 2026 season ended on September 27 with a 79-83 record, five games short of the playoffs, one year after the club came within two outs of a World Series title. What this hub does instead is answer, once and for all, how to watch the Blue Jays in Canada when the 2027 season opens, because the Jays have the simplest broadcast map in Toronto sports: one network owns the whole thing.

Next game: the 2027 opener

Status: 2026 season complete. The Blue Jays finished 79-83 and missed the postseason; the club was eliminated from playoff contention on September 23, 2026.
Next game: Opening Day, Thursday, March 25, 2027, at the New York Yankees, Yankee Stadium (first pitch time to be announced)
Home opener: Friday, April 2, 2027, vs the Seattle Mariners, Rogers Centre
TV in Canada: Sportsnet (2027 channel assignments are set with the season’s broadcast schedule)
Streaming: Sportsnet+
Radio: Sportsnet 590 The FAN and the Sportsnet Radio Network
Last updated: October 27, 2026. The 2027 schedule was released July 16, 2026, and, as the club’s beat writers noted at release, it assumes a new collective bargaining agreement is in place in time.

What channel are the Blue Jays on?

Sportsnet is the exclusive home of the Blue Jays in Canada, and has been for years. Every regular-season game airs on the Sportsnet family of channels: Sportsnet, Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet 360 carry the schedule between them, with games shifting between the three depending on the night’s other live events. The one exception to know is Friday Night Baseball on Apple TV+: a small number of Friday games across the league each season are Apple exclusives, and when a Jays game lands in that window it streams on Apple TV+ rather than airing on Sportsnet. Select games also appear in French on TVA Sports.

There is no regional split and no second network to track. A Jays fan never has to ask whether tonight is a TSN game, because it never is. If the game is on, it is on Sportsnet or, on the Apple Fridays, on Apple TV+.

The voices stay constant, too. Sportsnet’s 2026 coverage announcement had Dan Shulman on play-by-play with analysis from Joe Siddall and Caleb Joseph, Blue Jays Central in the studio with Jamie Campbell, and Hazel Mae and Arden Zwelling reporting from the clubhouse and dugout.

“Leaving this season without playing in October hurts more than I can put into words. I know how much this city believed in us, and wanted to give them more.”

That was Dylan Cease, in a message the club shared with fans after the season ended. Cease was the bright spot in a year that fell short, finishing 11-6 with a 2.40 ERA and 239 strikeouts after signing a seven-year, $210 million contract. The quote is really the 2026 Jays in one line: the belief was there, the October baseball was not.

How to stream the Blue Jays in Canada

Sportsnet+ streams every Sportsnet game, and both plans cover the Blue Jays: Sportsnet lists 150-plus Jays games in its baseball inventory, along with 150-plus U.S. MLB games and every postseason and World Series game. Premium is not needed for the Jays; its extras are aimed at out-of-market hockey and other properties. A television package with Sportsnet also unlocks Sportsnet+ streaming through TV provider sign-in.

Right now, Sportsnet+ is also where the 2026 World Series lives in Canada. The Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers continues this week on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+, with RDS carrying the Series in French. Jays fans waiting on March can at least watch October baseball on the same subscription they will use all next season.

MLB.TV needs a warning label in Canada. The service is built for out-of-market U.S. games; Blue Jays games are blacked out live in Canada because Sportsnet holds the Canadian rights. It is a useful add-on for fans who follow a U.S. team, and the wrong purchase for someone who mainly wants the Jays.

Blue Jays on the radio

Every Blue Jays game is on the Sportsnet Radio Network, anchored in Toronto by Sportsnet 590 The FAN and carried on stations across the country. Ben Shulman calls the play-by-play with analyst Chris Leroux, the pairing Sportsnet confirmed in its 2026 coverage announcement, and the network’s coverage runs beyond the games themselves: Jays Talk follows every game, and Blair and Barker carries the team through each weekday. For a road trip or a workday, the radio call remains the most reliable way to follow this team, and it needs no subscription at all.

Blue Jays viewing questions, answered

What channel is the Blue Jays game on tonight? There is no game tonight; the 2026 season is complete. In season, the answer is Sportsnet, Sportsnet ONE or Sportsnet 360, except for the occasional Friday Night Baseball window on Apple TV+. The next Jays game is Opening Day, Thursday, March 25, 2027, at the New York Yankees.

How can I stream the Blue Jays in Canada? Sportsnet+, on either plan. It carries the Sportsnet schedule, 150-plus Jays games a season, and the full MLB postseason. Apple TV+ is the only add-on a Jays fan ever needs, for its Friday exclusives.

Do I need Sportsnet+ Premium for the Blue Jays? No. Sportsnet includes the Jays in both plans; Premium’s value sits in out-of-market NHL and other properties, not in baseball.

This hub updates as the 2027 broadcast schedule is set and then on the morning of every Blue Jays game day, with the confirmed channel, stream and first-pitch time for the next game. When March arrives, the nightly channel question ends here.
