Day26 Announces All Year Single

Day26 will release the holiday single “All Year” on November 6, the same night the group’s Legacy Continues tour plays Dallas. The single opens a new album chapter through Jive Records with producer Bryan-Michael Cox.

The announcement came on October 29 from all five members: Brian Angel, Willie Taylor, Robert Curry, Michael McCluney and Qwanell “Que” Mosley. It ties together a single, an album deal and a tour that has already covered more than 30 cities, nearly two decades after the group was assembled on MTV’s Making the Band 4.

All Year Arrives November 6 With The Dallas Show

“All Year” is a holiday single with a deliberate release date. November 6 puts the record in front of listeners at the start of the season rather than in the middle of it, and the group has stacked the day: the single lands the same night the Legacy Continues tour returns to Dallas. From there the November run moves to Houston on November 7, Los Angeles on November 12, Oakland on November 14 and St. Louis on November 20, with tickets sold through the group’s own site at day26.net.

The Oakland date carries the detail worth the trip. At Yoshi’s, the jazz supper club on the Jack London Square waterfront, the group will screen a preview of an upcoming documentary for that night’s audience, according to The Source’s report on the announcement. The same report lists newer stops in Rochester, Stockton, Newport News, Norfolk, Lancaster, Sacramento and Raleigh. A group formed on television in 2007 is still adding rooms in 2026, and it is using the smallest room on the run to give its longest serving fans something no arena can offer.

Bryan-Michael Cox And The Full Circle Album

The album is the deeper news. Day26’s next full length comes through Jive Records with Cox behind it by way of his company, Illustrate New Ideas. Cox helped write the group’s debut before most listeners had heard them anywhere but reality television, and he has spent the years since naming Day26 whenever interviewers asked him to identify an underrated act. He wrote and produced “Since You’ve Been Gone,” “Are We in This Together,” “Don’t Fight the Feeling” and “Exclusive (No Excuses)” for the debut, and shared a writing credit on the lead single “Got Me Going.” On the 2009 follow up Forever in a Day, which debuted at No. 2, he delivered “So Good,” “Stadium Music,” “Babymaker” and “Need That” with Jermaine Dupri.

“Day26 and I have a history that goes back to the beginning of their career, so this partnership is a full circle moment. I have always believed in their talent, their chemistry and what they represent for R&B groups.”

Robert Curry gave the shorter version when the group revealed the Cox deal in July. “He’s responsible for our sound. It don’t get no better than that, especially if you’re a Day26 day one fan,” Curry said. The group’s own statement reached back to the first sessions: “There is a level of trust, respect and creative understanding that already exists between us.” The album has no title or release date yet. What it has is the producer who built the sound, a relaunched Jive as its home, and a holiday single as its first public step.

The Numbers Behind The Name

Day26 took its name from the night it was chosen, the August 26, 2007 finale of Making the Band 4. The self titled debut opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in March 2008 with roughly 190,000 copies sold in its first week, numbers no reality television group was supposed to post. The catalogue kept growing after the Bad Boy years and without the cameras: A New Day in 2012, led by “Made Love Lately,” The Return EP in 2014, and Day Ones in 2024, an album aimed squarely at the fans who had followed since the MTV years.

Cox has his own theory about the gap between the group’s sales and its respect, and he gave it to Hip-Hop Wired at Cousinz Festival in September. “But I always say if Day26 would have came even through Bad Boy just as a group, and not on TV and the first time you’re hearing ‘Exclusive’ I feel like it would have been credible from the gate,” he said. “I feel like what stunted them was MTV, it was a gift and a curse.” The Jive album is, in effect, a chance to test that theory with the original architect back in the room.

A Busy Friday In R&B

The release calendar underlines the moment. B2K puts out Eclipse, its first studio album since 2002, on the same Friday as “All Year,” which turns November 6 into a head to head between two groups from the same era of R&B. Day26’s answer to the comparison is continuity: the same five voices, the same producer, a tour already running and a documentary on the way. “All Year” arrives November 6 on Jive Records. The album follows when the group says it is ready, and the Legacy Continues tour plays Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Oakland and St. Louis across November.
